Local (almost monthly) charity NLTH tournament. The deal rotates until it’s down to 3 tables (then they have dealers). One guy is getting smashed (drunk) and when it’s his turn to deal... he literally takes about 4 or 5 minutes to deal. Even then, he has only shuffled a few half assed shuffles. Blinds are going up every 20 minutes (so seeing one hand in 4 or 5 minutes is bad) and the whole table is on tilt. People are so mad that they are making bad decisions against him and actually keeping him in the game cause they want to bust him out so bad. He has already busted out once but he quicky re-bought, frustrating everyone much more. I don’t want him to know I’m mad, cause it might just be a strategy for him (it’s working if it is). I really want to tell the place that if they don’t start cutting people off, I will quit coming. But let’s face it... they are making more money off of just his alcohol sales than from my buy in and a bottled water. I have cashed 2 of 4 times so I don’t want to quit going. Man, I hope I’m not at the same table as him this month. What do I do if I am?

Push him hard, see if you cant lure him into making a big decision early on in the game and cash in at his expense. He's either, as you say, very smart and knows exactly what he's doing, or he's very stupid and liable to take bait, so just try pushing him a little, get some larger bets going early on and play him right out of the game.

It's hard playing against somebody you really don't want to, but in a tournament situation, you can't say "That guy is an arse, can I play at another table" can you Smile

Best of luck, hope you don't get him anyway!
