Do any of you have a favourite hand other than AA,KK Etc that you like to play alot. I seem to like playing Q 9 alot it been a lucky hand for me.
My friend does the same with 8 & 7 he calls all the time on the preflop in limit games. |

| I like J9 & J10 especially if they are suited. I'll play them alot as long as I'm not facing raises and re-raises. |

I think you mean favorite hole cards, hand requires 5 cards, but I know what you mean.
My favorite hole cards are the ones that win, period. ppA, PPK, pp6, AKs, AQs, whatever wins, lol.
I normally play only good hole cards, maybe acceptable, love to limp in, or play ** to mix things up, every now and then.
** = 69.
The reason, no reason, not even sexual. 2 card connectors, and have hit many str, fh and quads off these hands, without even trying, numerous times. Even won a quad9 vs quad6, once.
Favorite, no, fold it in a second, see it for free, yep. Fold 2pr flop, easily. Been good to me, yes. Can't remember last time at showdown I lost with 69, why, easy to fold to better hand. |

| A-8s and J-10s - for the right price of course. I might even raise with 'em if I've got position and I'm first in the pot. |

| I think A8s is popular because it's the "dead man's hand." Or is A8o the dead man's? I'd hate to think Wild Bill Hickok was one of those Ax types. Were his last words something like "but it's...sooted"? |

The dead man's hand is:
As Ac 8s 8c Qh
It was 5 card poker, not holdem. |

| I'll play pretty much any high pocket pair and any mid pocket pair. I quite like pocket 7's - maybe I'm just biased because that's my lucky number, but I'm sure I've won more pots with that starting hand than the statistics say I should have. |

High pocket pairs are my favourite, Ace's or Kings are preferable. I especially like these hands because you have already got a hand - sure a pair aint great, but I've seen many a player play AK, or AQ and end up with nothing. At least I can say I've got a pair of aces if nothing else!
I seem to find 8,5o is quite a lucky hand for me, maybe that's because I've flopped 8,8,5 on a couple of occasions now. I'm due a bad beat taking that crap into the flop, but till it lets me down I'll play this bizarre starting hand. |

I like JTs in late position with 2 opponents (raise or call a raise to get the button).
You are drawing to the nut straight, as well a reasonably strong flush. Plus catching a JT on the flop is great, because raisers with AK or AQ will usually stay in to try and draw, calling your flop and turn bets. They may hit the inside straight, but they are making the mistake on calling a 10:1 shot, so bet out. |
